Farm to Bottle
Allyn Brown, owner of Connecticut Currant, a juice and bottling plant in Preston, was approached by various third party juice makers to bottle and package their juices. Since there wasn't enough space to bottle additional goods in Brown's current location, he began looking for a building that could handle the fulfillment volume needed by third parties. A building that had been vacant for 10 years was identified in the Norwich Industrial Park. It sat on nine acres of land, measured 26,000 square feet, and had an ideal combination of office and bottling space. However, it also came with a host of challenges.
