Community Connection

United WaySpread The Love This February
Sign on to Facebook and tell us your favorite local non-profit organization in the comment section below one of Chelsea Groton Bank's Spread The Love posts. At the end of the month, the non-profit that is mentioned the most times under our Spread the Love Facebook posts will receive a donation from Chelsea Groton. The more times the non-profit is mentioned, the greater the donation will be to the winning organization. You must "like" the Bank's Facebook page in order to have your nomination count, and each person can only nominate one non-profit, one time. Be sure to share our Facebook page with friends so they too can help spread the love this February!

Applications for Scholarships Now Available
Chelsea Groton awards scholarships each year to local high school seniors who plan to attend college. Students in need of financial assistance who have excelled academically, exemplified community service, and have exhibited strong leadership skills should visit their school guidance office to learn more about the Bank's scholarship program and to pick up an application. Contact Pam Days-Luketich at 860-448-4236 or with any questions.

Coin Counting for a Cause
Through the end of March, the 3% fee normally charged to non-relationship customers who use the coin-counting machine in the Groton branch will be donated to The United Way of Southeastern Connecticut's Gemma Moran Food Center in New London. Relationship customers, who currently do not pay a fee, will have the option to donate the value of 3% of their coins to the Food Center. After coins are counted, a transaction coin redemption receipt will be printed out. Customers can bring the receipt to the teller line to receive the value of the coins, and a receipt that shows the amount donated as proof of the donation for tax records. What better time than now to bring in your coins and make a difference?
