Chelsea Groton Team Members Recognized
for Contributions to Bank & Community

Pam Days-Luketich was named a New Leader in Banking, and Rich Balestracci and Rachel Carlson were selected as winners of the 40 Under Forty Award.

"Both the New Leader in Banking and the 40 Under Forty Award recognize leaders in the workplace and the community," said Michael Rauh, President and CEO of Chelsea Groton Bank. "Pam, Rich and Rachel are committed to the Bank, our customers and improving our region. We are proud of their accomplishments, and to have them as integral members of the Chelsea team."

Pam Days-Luketich
, CRA Coordinator and Community Outreach Officer at Chelsea Groton Bank, was named a New Leader in Banking by the CT Bankers Association and The Warren Group. This honor is awarded to up-and-coming professionals from across Connecticut. The 13 recipients are considered to be outstanding employees who have made a notable impact in their bank and their community, beyond their job description.

Pam launched the Bank's Community Education program in 2004. Since that time, she has worked to establish relationships with community partners to help meet the needs of individuals and families in the area. She facilitates the Bank's first-time home buying seminars, brings awareness to affordable housing programs, and teaches the FDIC Money Smart program and other financial courses in high schools, senior centers, and community organizations year round.

Pam serves on the Chamber of Commerce of Eastern Connecticut's Business Education Committee, The Community Bank's Education Coalition, the TIAC Grasso advisory board, and the Chelsea Groton Foundation board. She is a co-chair for the United Way campaign, and is treasurer for Higher Edge board of directors. She is also an adjunct faculty member at Three Rivers Community College. Pam earned her bachelor's degree in economics from Assumption College and her MBA from University of New Haven.

40 Under Forty Winners: Rich Balestracci and Rachel Carlson
Chelsea Groton Bank's Rich Balestracci, Assistant Treasurer, Portfolio Manager/ Commercial Loan Officer, and Rachel Carlson (NMLS #646284), Assistant Secretary, Retail Lending Operations Administrator, were selected as winners of Southeastern Connecticut's 4th Annual 40 Under Forty Award. Nominated by peers and selected by the Greater Mystic, Ocean Community and the Greater Norwich Area Chambers of Commerce, and The Day, the winners are individuals under 40 years of age who have demonstrated excellence in their profession as well as leadership, commitment and service to the region.

Rich BalestracciRich is responsible for fostering the Bank's existing commercial client relationships while working closely with the Bank's business line partners to develop new relationships within the community. He works with the local community through his role in commercial lending and as a volunteer member of the Stonington Economic Development Commission. Both roles allow Rich to pursue his passion for helping local business owners find creative solutions for overcoming the many challenges they face each day. Rich earned a bachelor's degree in economics from the University of Connecticut in 2007 and a MBA for Emerging Leaders from the University of New Haven in 2013. He is also a 2012 graduate of the Chamber of Commerce of Eastern Connecticut Leadership Program and former President/ Member of the Stonington chapter of Business Network International (BNI).

Rachel CarlsonRachel is responsible for managing the retail loan processing team, and the loan origination system that the Bank uses for mortgage and consumer loan processing. She takes pride in working for a Bank that offers a number of programs to help the first time homebuyer community achieve their dream of homeownership. Rachel graduated with honors from the Connecticut School of Finance and Management in 2009, and completed the Chamber of Commerce of Eastern Connecticut's Leadership Program in 2014. She is currently enrolled at the Mortgage Bankers Association's School of Mortgage Banking.
