Meet John Uyeki, SVP, Financial Services, Chelsea Groton Financial Services; Financial Advisor, Infinex Investments, Inc.

John UyekiWith over 25 years of experience in the financial services industry, John Uyeki, SVP, Director of Financial Services, Chelsea Groton Financial Services; Financial Advisor, Infinex Investments, Inc., takes the time to get to know clients in order to build a plan that is designed around their risk tolerance. He helps them apply their resources to best achieve their hopes for the future. John and the Chelsea Groton team follow a holistic approach to planning.

John frequently works with business owners and non-profits to understand their challenges and concerns, and works diligently to offer solutions that will best meet their goals for their businesses and their families. He cares about maintaining the trust of customers and the community for many generations to come.

Prior to joining the Chelsea Groton Financial Services team in 2015, John was Senior Vice President at First Niagara Financial Group (Key Bank) where he was responsible for leading a team of financial representatives serving individuals and institutional clients in New Haven and Fairfield County. Early in his career, John was hired to start a platform program at Fleet Bank (Bank of America). The Financial Services Program successfully licensed 3,500 individuals in seven states in three years. Many of those bankers went on to become successful advisors in New York and New England. Following his time at Fleet, John took on a similar role with Chase Bank, managing their platform program from the retail headquarters in Manhattan. During the 2004 merger with BankOne, John was given the opportunity to move from Program Management in Manhattan to running a team of Investment Advisors in Westchester and Fairfield County. Over the next several years, John managed the Connecticut and Rhode Island teams for Sovereign (Santander) and Citizens (then owned by RBS).

Having first-hand experience with mergers and acquisitions that occur in banking, John can attest to the unique and positive differences of now working for a mutual bank that has been in existence for the past 164 years.

John graduated from Hartwick College in Oneonta, NY. He currently resides in North Haven, CT with his wife Alison, their four children, and two dogs. Active in the community, John founded the North Haven Youth Lacrosse program in 2001 and has been the Director of Coaching since that time. Additionally, John and the Chelsea Groton team regularly participate in Habitat for Humanity Build Days and other volunteer opportunities. John also supports multiple Red Cross blood drives each year. In his spare time, John enjoys fishing for stripers along the sound in Southeastern CT with friends and family.
