Chelsea Groton Bank AUGUST 2018

Employee Spotlight: Get to Know Alex Masse

Alex Masse How long have you worked at Chelsea Groton Bank?

20 years

What do you love about Chelsea Groton Bank?

I love all that Chelsea Groton Bank does for their customers, employees and community. Whenever I speak to customers, family or friends, I'm proud to talk about Chelsea Groton because of what we stand for. We have a great reputation and rightfully so. Chelsea Groton has been extremely good to me personally and I have been afforded great opportunities to succeed no matter what role I was in. As the manager of the Business Banking department, I find it very rewarding helping our business customers with our service model and the products we offer.

What is your biggest achievement to date — personal or professional?

My greatest achievement by far is being a father. I have two sons, Cooper (8) and Owen (11). They are kind, considerate and very smart. My wife and I are so proud of the good people they are.

What community event do you look forward to each year?

I've participated in the Mobile Food Pantry Distribution for the Gemma E. Moran United Way/Labor Food Center and I think this is a great program. Being able to see the tangible impact on those that it serves is very rewarding.

What is something about yourself most people wouldn't know?

My family and I have recently begun to take camping trips. We now have a small travel trailer and have been staying at various campgrounds in New England with some close friends of ours as well as on our own. I find it very relaxing and a great way to bond with family and friends.

Tell us a little bit about your life outside of work:

I'm currently serving on the Town of Sprague Board of Finance. This has been a great learning experience for me as I am getting a better understanding of how local government works from a different perspective. I am also a board member for the Sprague, Franklin, Canterbury Little League and have been a coach in the league for the past five years. This year was extremely special as our 9, 10, 11 year old All Star team won the District Championship, which hasn't been done in our league since 2012. We then made it to the final game of the State Sectional tournament. It was a very proud moment for the league and for me as a father and coach.
